Frequently Asked Questions

How should my new jacket fit?

Every style will fit a little differently based on the cut and the material. In general, a leather jacket will feel snug across the back and upper arms when new, then once it breaks in after a few wears, it will give in the snug areas to fit even more comfortably. Leather will shape to the body, so it won't take long for it to feel like one you've had for years. Textile jackets don't give as much as leather, so they should fit comfortably when brand new. They will give a little when they break in but not a lot.

How should my new pants fit?

Most pants should feel snug when new. Pants with a lot of stretch should feel tight at first, then they will give after a few wears. However, they should not be so tight that they are uncomfortable or prevent you from sitting in riding position. Canvas, textile or thicker pants do not have as much give, so they should be fitted but not very snug when brand new. None of our pants will give as much as a full size, so if you prefer a relaxed fit, you will want to make sure the pants fit accordingly when brand new.

Is the sizing of your gear consistent across all styles?

Each piece of gear will fit differently based on the cut and material, so it's important to check the size chart for each item. Every piece of gear has its own customized size chart and Fit Tips to help you get the perfect fit the first time. If you use the interactive size chart, you will only have to enter your measurements once, then they should populate in each size chart after that so you can easily view our size recommendation for each piece of gear.

What if I don't have a tape measure to get accurate measurements?

We can provide you with a complimentary tape measure, just send us an email at info@windandthrottle.com with your name and shipping address and we'll send one out!

I found a size chart on a different website and it’s different from Wind & Throttle’s. Which one should I use?

We recommend that you refer to our size charts as they have been carefully reviewed and would only vary from the manufacturer’s size chart if we found through customer experience that it needed updating. Size charts could also vary if a manufacturer lists their sizes in ones other than U.S. sizing and we convert them to U.S. sizing.

Is the gear true to size?

Not all of our gear is true to size. Check the size chart for each item and also reference the "Fit Tips" section to find out how the gear will fit. We provide tips on if it's true to size, runs small, how it stretches, and other useful tips that will help you make the most informed decision on size.

Do you carry petite and tall lengths?

A lot of our gear is available in multiple lengths, and will be indicated on the product page for each piece of gear. Some styles also run shorter or longer depending on the cut, which is usually noted in the Technical Features section of the product page. There are also styles that come in a longer length because they can be hemmed or rolled to your perfect length.

How long does it take to pack and ship my order?

After you place your order, we will pack and ship it within 1-2 days. Exceptions include weekends and holidays when delivery carriers like USPS and UPS are closed. If they are not processing shipments on the day and time you order, then your order will go out after shipping resumes.
